Additional Information

Note that drivers are volunteers.

Dial-a-Ride:

  • All buses are handicapped accessible with a wheelchair lift
  • Buses travel as requested by contact with dispatchers
  • Door-to-door service is given. Drivers will assist passengers safely from the bus to an exterior door of the pick-up or drop-off locations

Application Instructions

Ride arrangements for the volunteer driver program can be made up to three months in advance Rides must be booked while the dispatch center is open. Dial-a-Ride: Call to book an appointment for a ride

Fee

The round trip fare for the Rainbow Rider volunteer driver program is based on an actual cost recovery formula. (Aides for passengers needing assistance travel at no charge.) Some assistance is available for people on Medical Assistance or for senior citizens.

If you are unable to pay, you may contact your county's social services office for more information.

Dial-a-Ride: Fares for the buses are based on five mile zones.

Volunteer driver fare is current rate per mile and $10.00 per trip
