Offers cash or other short term aid to people in a crisis that is affecting their access to basic needs
Emergency assistance can vary based upon eligibility and available funds.

Provides grant funding for one-time small basic needs to help people recover from a financial setback and return to work
Self-Sufficiency Grants assist individuals and families for two types specific types of expenses:
- Unexpected or emergency expenses that an individual or family living paycheck-to-paycheck could not possibly afford without a short-term hand-up
- Monthly bills that an individual or family living paycheck-to-paycheck cannot afford to pay at the time of their application because of a documentable extenuating circumstance that occurred within the past year
They will pay a bill or creditor, not give money to the requestor.

Eligibility
Low-income workers who are faced with a short-term emergency expense:
- At least one adult member of the applicant's household must be documentable employed at the time of the application
- The primary source of income for each applicant's household must be either income earned from employment or child support payments or Veteran's Benefits; or retirement income (including Social Security retirement benefits)

To apply for help, submit an application online via the online application form. Applications are not accepted by postal mail, email or phone.
Applications must be:
- Completed in full
- Supported with any needed documentation (such as a copy of the bill)
