Support to families and babies learning how to breastfeed

Description

Consultants can provide breastfeeding support and education for both prenatal and postpartum moms.

Services can include personal assessments, suggestions for troubleshooting common breastfeeding issues, education about equipment, and information and support.

Additional Information

Maternal Child Health is a short-term home visiting program during pregnancy, birth and postpartum

  • Provides assessments including infant weight checks and breastfeeding consultations

Baby Cafe is a free breastfeeding support group offering ongoing professional lactation care and intervention by a certified lactation consultant

  • 9:00am - 11:00am, Wednesday at Fairmont Elementary, Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) Room
  • 1:00pm - 3:00pm, 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at United Hospital District Blue Earth, Conference Room
  • 9:00am - 10:30am, 3rd Thursday of the month, United South Central School District, Wells, Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) Room

  • WIC - Supplemental Nutrition Program A nutrition and breastfeeding program that helps young families eat well and be healthy. Learn about nutrition during pregnancy and feeding your baby and young children; meet breastfeeding goals; and buy healthy food using your WIC card.
