Coordinators connect individuals to well-child care and screenings for eligible newborns, children and young adults

Description

Preventive care keeps kids healthy! Coordinators at these agencies help individuals know if they are eligible for services and connect them with local clinics and agencies that provide comprehensive well-child exams. These exams include age-appropriate preventive, dental, mental health, and developmental screenings.

A preventive health care program for children (0 - 21 years of age) who are enrolled in Medical Assistance

Checkups include:

  • Complete physical exam
  • Developmental screening
  • Hearing and vision checks
  • Vaccinations
  • Lab tests, including lead testing
  • Physical and mental health information
  • Regular dental checkups (starting at 12 months of age)
  • Referrals to other health specialists, as needed
