Description

Legal aid program that offers legal counseling and/or representation for low-income individuals, typically in the areas of disability law, elder law and family law

Free or low cost legal services help people who are unable to afford a lawyer get access to the court system.

Matches people experiencing poverty to volunteer attorneys for free advice, brief services or representation in court:

  • Call the intake line to determine eligibility and if the agency can help
  • Fill out the online intake form

Volunteer attorneys may be able to assist with the following issues:

  • Family
  • Civil
  • Debt collection
  • Housing (landlord/tenant)
  • Immigration
  • Real estate
  • Criminal expungement
  • Bankruptcy
  • Employment

They do not represent people in pending criminal matters, medical malpractice, personal injury, public benefits, wills and estates, business or non-profit owner assistance.

Can provide interpreters for most services.
