Provides outpatient mental health diagnosis, treatment, and consultation by a mental health team
Description
Mental Health Clinics provide outpatient mental health services for individuals with mental or emotional disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.
Services include:
- Intake and case assignment
- Mental health evaluation including assessment and diagnostic process
- Treatment planning
- Counseling services, consultation and individual therapy case review
- Access to emergency service
- Access to hospital admission
Some providers also provide rehabilitative mental health services, and some may also provide services to persons with developmental disabilities, alcoholism or substance abuse.
Mental Health Clinics also provide educational, informational, and preventive services to the community.
The mental health team includes:
- Licensed physician who has completed an approved residency program in psychiatry
- Doctoral clinical, counseling, or health care psychologist
- Clinical social worker with a master's degree in social work from an accredited college or university or clinical psychiatric nurse with a master's degree
Additional Information
Outpatient community mental health and family counseling center providing couples, family, group, and individual counseling in-center and in-home including:
- Individual, Couples and Family therapy and counseling.
- Group therapy: A variety of therapy groups are available at the Mental Health Center. Individuals may call the Mental Health Center to ask about current groups.
- Medication/psychiatric consultations.
- Crisis intervention and emergency assessments.
- Mental health diagnosis and evaluations including clinical interviews, mental status examinations and psychological testing.
- Consultation services to schools, Court Services, hospitals and other community programs and agencies.
- Community Education: a variety of educational topics are provided through the Mental Health Center. Topics could include issues in parenting, stepfamilies, mental illness and other mental health concerns.
Additional Services include:
- Adult Day Treatment Services are group therapies and individual therapy for adults who are experiencing long term, serious mental illness.
- Parent Education Group- a six week educational program for parents, foster parents, educators and guardians.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Training Group, and Anger Management Groups for men and women are available.
Includes a staff person who is trained in Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Fee
Most health insurance plans are accepted, including Medical Assistance (MA) and Medicare. For those without insurance, a sliding fee based on income is available to Scott County residents.
