Domestic Violence Support Services
Support program focusing on domestic abuse of individuals by their spouses or partners
Description
This program provides support to people in abusive situations and works to reduce relationship abuse, intimate partner violence and family violence.
Programs may include crisis intervention and domestic violence education and prevention.
Additional Information
Offers direct services to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) victims of domestic violence through the Anti-Violence Program.
Services include:
- File for protective orders
- Supportive counseling
- Referrals to domestic violence shelters or a safe places in the community
- Safety planning
- Short-term crisis counseling
Provides victim-related services and will provide referrals, but not direct services, for those seeking help with their own abusive behavior
Also offers trainings concerning same-sex domestic abuse to domestic violence service providers.
