Staff within this organization are available to help families with children connect with supportive services in their local community.
Description
Staff help families learn about the wide variety of services and supports that may be helpful, make referrals on behalf of families when needed, and check-in with families until navigation services are no longer needed.
Resource centers may have staff that speak a variety of languages, that live in the local community, and represent similar cultural, racial and ethnic backgrounds of the families they serve. Agencies may also offer direct services in addition to navigation support.
Additional Information
Provides support for healthy pregnancies, births and families by offering parenting programs and one-time parenting classes. Programs are culturally focused for African American and Latino/Latinx parents, but people from all backgrounds are welcome to join
Parenting programs include a 12-week pregnancy program or a 1-year post-birth program for individuals with children ages 0-3 that offer:
- Support groups
- One-on-one support
- Family support
- Access to health care services
One-time classes provide information on:
- Prenatal basics
- Infant safety
- Lactation support
- Childbirth
Future is Family program provides resources to families with children age 5 and under:
- Support groups
- Legal assistance
- Family support
- Access to health care services
The Early Childhood and Family Education Play and Learn Group is a free weekly drop-in class from 1:30pm - 3:00pm, Wednesday's for parents or caregivers and their children. No advanced registration is required.
