Additional Information

Provides academic and vocational training to migrant and seasonal farm workers help participants become economically self-sufficient.

The National Farmworker Jobs Program includes:

  • Emergency supportive services (nutritional, transportation, housing, utilities)
  • Vocational skills training
  • Customized training
  • Job readiness skills
  • Work experience
  • On-the-job training
  • Computer literacy
  • English as a Second Language
  • Agricultural upgrade training
  • Pesticide safety training

MET also serves low-income and disadvantaged populations throughout the agency's service area.

Eligible participants are:

  • Seasonal farmworkers primarily employed in agricultural labor with long periods of unemployment or underemployment
  • Disadvantaged
  • Citizens, permanent residents, refugees, asylees, parolee and other authorized immigrants
