Additional Information

The Accessible Transportation and Dial-a-Ride program provides mobility bus service for eligible persons who cannot use regular route bus service due to physical or a mental disability. Buses are equipped for wheelchairs. Fixed route buses are now all handicapped accessible as well.

Kato Flex offers curb to curb service to anyone living in any areas of Mankato where there is little or no fixed-route bus service. The service is a shared-ride service, where more then one rider may be on the bus, with different destinations.

Eligibility

Passengers must be physically or mentally disabled and be certified by a medical doctor as well as the City of Mankato

Kato Flex serves those who reside in Flex Zone areas:

  • Eagle Lake
  • Skyline
  • Select areas in the city of North Mankato

In the city of Mankato:

  • Germania Park Neighborhood
  • LeHillier in South Bend Township
  • Sibley Park Neighborhood
  • Tourtellotte Park Neighborhood (north)
  • West Mankato

Also the cities of Eagle Lake, North Mankato, and Skyline.

Application Instructions

Call (507) 625-RIDE (7433) for information and to schedule rides. Rides should be scheduled the day before the trip or earlier.

For Kato Flex there will be a one-time over the phone application.

Fee

$3.00 one way or purchase a book of 11 tickets for $30.00

For Kato Flex the base fare is $2 (one way). There is also book of 11 rides for $20.
