Description
Programming or supplies to help parents or potential parents succeed in the parenting role
This can include classes, workshops, information, educational opportunities, or equipment/supplies.
Additional Information
Offers:
- Support groups to discuss parenting concerns, joys and questions.
- Education to Learn effective communication skills and parenting strategies
- Education to develop parents' capacity to address their children's needs, as well as their own
Programs include:
- Parents As Teachers (PAT): a free home visiting service for children ages prenatal through five and their primary caregiver.
- Parent Support Outreach Program (PSOP) in Ramsey and Hennepin counties
- Sexual Health Education for parents and caregivers so they can educate and discuss issues of sexuality with their children
Parent Support Outreach Program (PSOP):
- Helps families who are experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, mental health issues and other concerns
- Offers assistance finding housing and employment, providing parenting help, and counseling support
Services in Virginia, MN are offered through the Virginia Family Resource Center
