Connects kinship caregivers who care for children of a relative or close family friend with supportive services and resources.

Description

The Kinship Navigator Program assists families caring for children who are not their own, like grandparents, aunts, uncles, and close family friends, to help these individuals and families succeed. Navigators help families connect to local supports and services, including:

  • Getting assistance with everyday needs like housing, child care, food, health and transportation
  • Maintaining financial stability
  • Discovering emotional and community support networks

Additional Information

Offers support for kinship caregivers including:

  • Resource referrals for healthcare, legal and financial needs
  • A warmline, or one-on-one support, from 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
  • Online webinars

Also offers virtual and in-person support groups:

  • Parenting Across Generations virtual support group, 9:30am -10:45am, 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month
  • Kinship Support and Education Group in-person support group, 10:00am -11:45am, 1st Saturday of each month at Peace Lutheran church
