Domestic Violence Support Services
Support program focusing on domestic abuse of individuals by their spouses or partners
Description
This program provides support to people in abusive situations and works to reduce relationship abuse, intimate partner violence and family violence.
Programs may include crisis intervention and domestic violence education and prevention.
Additional Information
The Domestic Abuse Service Center is a one-stop center that provides victims of domestic violence with ready access to services.
Services include:
- Help with Orders for Protection and harassment orders
- Access to police and city of Minneapolis or Hennepin County prosecutors for victims of domestic abuse
- Advocates help victims develop safety plans and access temporary housing and other services
- On-site playroom
- Provide referrals to agencies that specialize in children and family services
- Interpreter services
- Support services related to the abuse of seniors and vulnerable adults
Staff speak many languages and is ethnically and culturally diverse.
