Provides direct support services to blind or deaf-blind people to help them live as independently as possible

Description

Blind or visually impaired support services offer direct support to people who are blind, deaf-blind or with low vision. Programs may teach Independent Living Skills (ILS) to people with a visual impairment.

Additional Information

Hadley offers free social, emotional, and practical support for those living with vision loss, including:

  • Peer to Peer Program - Connect with someone who can relate to the everyday challenges of vision loss
  • Audio-Video Workshops - Guides related to various activities and skills such as daily living, adjusting to vision loss, recreation, working, technology, and Braille
  • Donahoe Center for Support - The Donahoe Center offers compassionate assistance, a supportive community, and trusted resources that promote well-being and foster connectedness

Eligibility

Eligibility varies by program.

For Adult Continuing Education:

  • Individuals ages 14 or older who are blind or meet low vision eligibility requirements and are able to understand courses written in English at the high school level
