Temporary emergency shelter for children or youth
Description
Temporary place to stay for homeless youth who have run away or are at risk in their homes
Additional Information
Provides free shelter, coaching, and support services for youth who are having a personal or family crisis
Shelter stays are temporary, generally limited to a maximum of 21 days. Longer stays may be available through the Short Term Shelter Program for youth awaiting placement.
Services include:
- Crisis intervention
- Education
- Supervised daily living
- Recreational activities
- Group discussions - focused on family systems, anger management, sharing and giving, self-esteem building, and other youth issues
- Individual coaching
- Family coaching
- Gang identification training and intervention
- Alcohol and drug education and intervention
- After care support
