Support program focusing on domestic abuse of individuals by their spouses or partners
Description
This program provides support to people in abusive situations and works to reduce relationship abuse, intimate partner violence and family violence.
Programs may include crisis intervention and domestic violence education and prevention.
Additional Information
Intimate partner abuse prevention program:
- Men's program is 27 weeks long and the women's program is 16 weeks in duration
- Many are court-mandated to attend; self-referral is possible
- Provide assistance to both the victim and the assailant
- Provide speakers to groups to discuss battering and other related topics
