Transitional Housing - Domestic Violence

Time-limited housing and support services for individuals and/or families

Description

Provides housing and supportive services to individuals and families who are homeless or in need of safe housing.

Transitional housing helps people live independently, address issues that led to homelessness or kept them homeless, rebuild their support network and transition into permanent housing.

The length of time a person can use the program is limited.

Transitional housing and support services for single-parent families with minor children who are fleeing domestic abuse.

Housing Specialists provide resources, referrals and education to those trying to secure permanent housing.

The Safely Achieving Full Empowerment (SAFE) Housing Program provides two years of affordable housing and supportive services to families troubled by domestic violence. Families receive help finding the services and resources they need, and learn about:

• Time management

Eligibility

Single-parent families fleeing domestic violence. Families may be homeless, or near-homeless. Families must meet certain income requirements.
