Domestic Violence Support Services - New Choices

Support program focusing on domestic abuse of individuals by their spouses or partners

Description

This program provides support to people in abusive situations and works to reduce relationship abuse, intimate partner violence and family violence.

Programs may include crisis intervention and domestic violence education and prevention.

Additional Information

New Choices works to prevent future violence through group treatment for batterers and extensive collaboration with the criminal justice system to ensure accountability.

Services include:

  • Intake sessions and assessments
  • Group Treatment
  • Close collaboration with the State Attorney's Office and courts to ensure offenders ordered into treatment are held accountable for violating court orders or treatment contracts
  • The safety of treatment group participants' intimate partners is addressed in each stage of assessment and during a period of group treatment

Advocacy services are also provided to victims of domestic violence/abuse, stalking, or human trafficking.
