Telephone support service that provides information about a particular topic to those who call.

Description

Staff or volunteers answer questions or talk confidentially with callers. Program can provide information, a sympathetic listener, advice and/or referrals to other resources.

Additional Information

The Foster Adopt Minnesota HELP program offers free phone support and information and referral to Minnesota adoptive families.

The HELP Program offers the following to Minnesota adoptive families:

  • Phone support from clinical specialists who specialize in adoption
  • Individualized referrals to therapeutic services, resources and practitioners across the state specific to the caller's situation and needs
  • Access to information regarding educational offerings & training specific to the caller's situation and needs
  • Potential financial assistance for adoptive families to access eligible adoption-competent therapeutic services when financial barriers to receiving needed services are present

Resources and support are available to adoptive parents of children who have special needs and to professionals who serve adoptive families.

Eligibility

Any Minnesota family who adopted a child who was under state or tribal guardianship; internationally; or through private domestic infant adoption, kinship adoption or guardianship; and foster care families.
