Provides direct support services to blind or deaf-blind people to help them live as independently as possible

Description

Blind or visually impaired support services involve direct support to people who are blind, deaf-blind, or those with low vision. Program focuses on teaching Independent Living Skills (ILS) to people with a visual impairment.

Additional Information

The Adjustment to Blindness Training Program helps you learn adaptive techniques. Subjects include technology, typing, orientation and mobility, Braille, cooking, and tasks of daily living. They also provide fully furnished apartments near their training center, for those traveling from Greater Minnesota.

Offers a low vision assessment to evaluate the impact of your vision loss in your home.

DeafBlind Services advances the independence of children and adults with combined hearing and vision loss.

Offers Vision Rehabilitation Training to learn adaptive techniques
