Domestic Violence Support Services
Support program focusing on domestic abuse of individuals by their spouses or partners
Description
This program provides support to people in abusive situations and works to reduce relationship abuse, intimate partner violence and family violence.
Programs may include crisis intervention and domestic violence education and prevention.
Additional Information
Assists immigrant women and their families, with a focus is on building a violence free society and empowering women.
The domestic violence program offers:
- Volunteers are available 24/7 on crisis line to answer questions and mediate crises
- Information and referral to community resources, including shelters
- Confidential services such as free or low cost legal aid, women's emotional support groups, divorce support and access to battered women's shelters and medical care
- Economic Empowerment program - education, resources and referrals for survivors of domestic abuse to earn their own living and pursue careers
- Chai and Chat monthly events provide interaction to reduce isolation and talks about many topics
