Coordinators connect individuals to well-child care and screenings for eligible newborns, children and young adults
Description
Preventive care keeps kids healthy! Coordinators at these agencies help individuals know if they are eligible for services and connect them with local clinics and agencies that provide comprehensive well-child exams. These exams include age-appropriate preventive, dental, mental health, and developmental screenings.

Includes well-child medical exams and dental care, at no cost to eligible children and teens.
A Child and Teen Checkup includes the following components which are completed at the appropriate age with standardized, developmental screening tools:
- Height and weight
- Vision and hearing
- Growth, development and social emotional health
- Health history
- Physical exam including blood pressure starting at 3 years
- Lab tests like hemoglobin and lead testing
- Oral health assessment and fluoride varnish application through 5 years
- Vaccinations and immunizations review
- Health education:
Checkups can be used for medical checkups required for school, summer camps, Head Start, Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) or child care facilities.
Public Health can help families find local medical clinics, dental clinics, and make appointments.
