Helpline - Mental Health Referrals for Health Care Professionals

Telephone service that provides information and a little emotional support.

Description

Staff or volunteers answer questions or talk confidentially with callers. Program can provide information, a sympathetic listener, advice and/or referrals to other resources.

Note this service is for health care professionals, it does not serve the general public.

Call the Psychiatric Assistance Line (PAL) for help with:

  • Same-day phone consultation for prescribing providers; a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist can help with starting, adjusting, or managing medications;
  • Phone consultation with a licensed clinical social worker for help finding local mental health resources, or help with clinical questions.

Eligibility

Free service available to health professionals. Any healthcare provider can call for mental health triage and referral, or for a consultation with a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist regarding a patient.

This is a free service provided by PrairieCare Medical Group through a grant from DHS.
